Celina Liang
University of Pennsylvania ’26 | Biology, Chemistry Minor
Celina is a senior at Penn and leads the overall development and coordination of TYConsulting. She has advised students facing common challenges such as limited extracurriculars, inconsistent grades, lower test scores, or difficulty identifying a compelling personal narrative, and focused on helping them highlight strengths, clarify their story, and present a more cohesive application. Her understanding of admissions is shaped not only by her own trajectory, but also by years of helping younger students navigate essays, strategy, and school fit. She has helped students who applied successfully to a wide range of universities, including Ivy League institutions, top liberal arts colleges, and major public flagships.
Tatiana Nazlymov
Princeton University ’27 | Public & International Affairs, Cognitive Science Minor
Tatiana is a junior at Princeton and a NCAA Division I fencing recruit who also represented Team USA competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She went through the athletic recruitment process early, visiting schools such as Duke, Columbia, and Princeton before committing during her junior year. Tatiana provides guidance on athletic recruiting timelines, official visits, communication with coaches, and navigating the balance between academics and elite extracurriculars.
Jocelyn Liu

University of Michigan Ross School of Business ’26 | Master of Accounting
Jocelyn grew up in Toronto and completed the IB program before studying Economics and Finance at Tsinghua University as an international student, where she led the SEM Business Case Team in international competitions. She has navigated admissions processes in Canada, the United States, and China, giving her an unusually comprehensive understanding of cross-border application strategy. Jocelyn’s experiences allow her to offer insight into navigating different admissions systems and understanding cross-border application pathways.

Sophie Huang
Harvard University ’30 | Neuroscience (Prospective Concentration)
Sophie is a freshman at Harvard College, admitted through Restrictive Early Action after completing the IB Diploma Program. She founded and built a non-profit over the past 4 years while participating in neuroscience research, including through the Boston University RISE summer program. Sophie’s background enables her to advise on extracurricular activities such as summer programs and community service initiatives, and weaving these activities into a compelling narrative for applications.
Jessica Hao
Rice University ’26 | Major in Business with minors in Biochemistry and Medical Humanities
Jessica Hao is a recent graduate of Rice University in Houston, TX on the pre-dental track. Throughout college, Jessica has had experience mentoring students academically and enjoys guiding students as they explore majors or navigate interdisciplinary pathways. Jessica is passionate about helping students craft a cohesive application and personal statement that feels authentic to them and reflects their unique strengths, experiences, and aspirations.
Lia Che
Claremont McKenna ’29 | Major in Integrated Sciences and Data Science
Lia is a student at Claremont McKenna College studying Integrated Sciences and Data Science. Born in Beijing and raised in Vancouver, she completed the IB Diploma with a perfect score before moving to Los Angeles for college. Her interest lies in the intersection of science, innovation, and creativity. From synthetic biology research on PFAS degradation to nonprofit consulting to Thanka Origami creative multimedia research, to an ethnography of community-cat caretakers across three cities. As an editor with TYConsulting, she helps students shape their personal statements and supplemental essays, focusing on finding the one honest through-line in an application and telling it in the student’s own voice. Bilingual in English and Mandarin, she works especially well with students who worry their interests are too scattered to add up to a single story.
Sam Zhang
UCLA ’27 | Majors in Philosophy and Film
Sam is a senior at UCLA with a particular interest in writing. He has received multiple writing awards and has researched law and philosophy at a professional level by conducting sustained academic research culminating in a peer-reviewed publication to various journals. Through these experiences, he has strengthened his ability to synthesize dense material and produce clear, well-structured written work. As a TYConsulting Editor, he hopes to guide students towards a personal statement and supplemental essays that they will be proud of and capture their individuality.
