On December 6th, members of the Toronto TYCon community gathered for a winter meetup at the iconic Nathan Phillips Square for Ice Skating. With the city just beginning to embrace the holiday season, the square was glowing with festive lights and buzzing with energy.
Despite the chilly weather, spirits were high and attendees rented skates and took to the ice. After a few laps, everyone quickly found their rhythm, circling the rink and enjoying the lively atmosphere while chatting and getting to know each other. We skated for around an hour, pausing occasionally to rest and observe the winter charm of downtown Toronto. A highlight of the evening came when the Zamboni resurfaced the rink, allowing us to enjoy a few final loops on freshly smoothed ice.
After skating, the group walked to the nearby Eaton Centre to warm up away from the cold of the outdoors. We chatted some more over mochi donuts and drinks at the food court. From skating under the lights to sharing treats indoors, the meetup was a cozy and memorable way to kick off the festive season together!
